 Happy Labor Day! 

I hope you are planning to celebrate the last hurrah of summer with family and friends. Do you remember when school didn’t start until after Labor Day? It seems like it starts earlier and ends later every year. Michelle and I remember when our children went to school year-round in Prince William County, Virginia, during the 70’s in a program called 45/15 to alleviate overcrowding, especially in Dale City. The historical year-round school plan used four colorcoded groups: red, blue, green, and orange. The student body was split into these four rotating tracks so that one group was always on a three-week vacation while the other three groups were in school. Everyone had Christmas, Easter, and Federal Holidays off. Our children were on the blue schedule and thought it was the best one. Ahh, memories! 

Michelle is Home! 

Michelle came home on August 22 and is receiving home health care. Thank you for your cards, emails, and personal well wishes and prayers!

 Doc Holiday and I joined many of our Lake Frederick friends in attending Gary McDowell’s memorial service in OMPS Chaple in Winchester and paying our respects to Janet and his family.
